Coronavirus 5th May

Things seem to be stuck in a rut. The lockdown goes on, businesses are chomping at the bit to get back to work, the same problems with PPE, nothing is seemingly changing day by day. The long haul is becoming a reality. (Hence, this diary is now written every other day.)

Great faith is now being put into the Governments ‘Test Track and Trace’. The Isle of White has been singled out as the test bed for the new app released by the NHS. Using the blue tooth on everyone’s mobile phone, it should enable the authorities, where they know a case exists, to identify anyone that has been in close contact with that person and therefore, localise any outbreak. The problem, some of which was ably put by Sir Keith Starmer,  is whether people have mobile phones, whether they remember to take them out with them and whether the register for the thing in the first place!

POSITIVITY Some post-boxes around the UK have been painted blue in thanks to the NHS heros fighting the pandemic. Not only that, they have ‘Thankyou NHS’ painted down the side! It doesn’t take much, does it?
